Jonah discovers his hands!

On the 24th day of June, two thousand and nine, Jonah Wesley Kent officially discovered that those things he's been sucking on for 3 weeks are indeed attached to his body. He spent a good 2-3 hours admiring and testing his discovery that evening: move arms down, hands go down; move arms up, oh look, hands go up too; move arm towards face and hands still fit very well inside mouth. Hurrah!

Conversations with Mommy and Daddy and First Father's Day

A conversation with daddy.

A conversation with mommy.

My ipod plays the coolest music.

We celebrated our first father's day with barbecue, bocce ball, and beautiful weather on the shores of Boyd's Lake in Loveland.

Jonah's First Stand

We've been practicing with Jonah and trying to get him to use his leg muscles to stand. He seems to have fun with this exercise. He's not quite leaping over tall buildings in a single bound, but we're working on it..

Jonah - 3 months old

Our smiling, happy boy has turned 3 months already. A week and a half ago he weighed in at 13 lbs 4.2oz, which puts him within range of out-weighing Tattoo probably sometime next month. :-) He's smiling a lot and is on the verge of laughing. Other milestones this past month - he started sucking his fingers, he has completely rejected pacifiers (which isn't entirely a bad thing, just forces us to be more creative when he's fussy), and as you can see from the recent photos he has lost all his newborn hair except for the Billy Idol mohawk ("Rock the cradle of looovvee..."). We have embraced this fashion statement by purposely spiking it straight up, and will continue to do so until that too falls out. There is some fine, bleach blonde hair coming in though, so he should be a tow-head in a few months. Mommy returned to work full time this week, which has been a transition for everyone. Jonah is staying home at "Daddy Daycare" and has enjoyed his first trips to the grocery store, the bank, the Verizon store, and hanging out with his friend Camden (See May 12th post) and the two daddies. Sleep habits have improved significantly -- thank goodness! Jonah now goes to bed at 8:30pm and gets up only once to eat during the night before waking up around 6:00am. He's also now sleeping in his crib in the nursery. Gone are the days of zombie parents...phew! We made it over that hurdle! (Though I can hear you all now..."just wait until he starts teething...")

Jonah and Friends

So cute sleeping! Favorite sleeping position - "touchdown!"

I've lost all my baby hair except for this mohawk!

Me and my friend Charlie Cache (6 months old) with our mommies.

Childbirth class reunion 5/30/09. The last time we saw each other we were just little sea monkeys! (Left-to-right: Nevaeh, Jonah, Livia, J.J., and Jackson down front)

The Mommies: Rebekah and Jonah, Alia and J.J., Ashley and Nevaeh, and Shannon and Livia.

Jonah won this hat for being the baldest of the babies at the reunion!
